NYSC Camp Registration Procedure

Here is the procedure for registration at the NYSC orientation camp:

• When you arrive at the camp gate, you must show your medical certificate of fitness and submit to a mandatory COVID-19 screening by the NCDC, since only those who test negative will be admitted.
• Before being allowed inside the camp, you’ll be given a slip and subjected to physical and electronic security checks for forbidden objects.
• When you arrive at the camp, you will be assigned to a hostel, after which you will proceed to the store to purchase a mattress.
• Move to the registration unit with the documentation listed in your call-up letter after locating your bed space.
• Take a seat and follow the officer’s instructions.
• Present your slip, an original copy of your call-up letter, an original copy of your school certificate or statement of result, and the institution’s identity card for manual verification when it is your turn to be attended to.
• Proceed to the ICT table for digital verification and state registration number issuing (code).
• To obtain a meal ticket and a number tag, proceed to the next unit. Until you receive a plastic corps member’s identity card, the number tag will function as your temporary identity card. The tag must be worn around your neck at all times.
• Bank staff will be at the hall to open an account for you, through which you’ll be paid your allowances right from the camp. So, locate the bank to which you have been assigned and ensure you fill out the account opening form before proceeding to the next step.
• Go to your platoon officer for your file and kit items (NYSC uniforms).

Note that your platoon number is the last digit of your state code.

For instance, if your given state code number is 0503, then you are in platoon 3.

Every corporal is attached to a platoon, and most of your activities, including morning drills and competitions, would be conducted according to platoons.
